Notes

"Max Kahn was an American who changed his name to Max Kenna. He lived in Paris sharing a flat for many years with Jean Ozenne . He went to the Parson's School of Design there and became a dress designer. I think it was from Max that Jean learned to do that. Another friend of his was Christian Dior, to whom he taught the technique." -Virgil Thomson (Tommasini, Virgil Thomson's Musical Portraits, pg. 133)
